Eric Trump, the middle son of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, addressed the GOP convention on Wednesday, telling delegates his father’s business acumen will translate to results in the Oval Office.
“Who better to implement a common sense business approach?” Eric Trump asked.
The younger Trump recalled a project his father became involved in where New York City struggled to renovate an ice rink in Central Park, which his father’s office overlooked.
“Disgusted by government incompetence and ineptitude, he invested $2 million of his own money to complete the project. What had taken the city over half a decade to botch, my father completed in under six months, two months ahead of schedule and $1 million under budget,” he said.
He encouraged voters to back his father because he is “quite frankly, my friends … the one candidate who does not need this job.”
“Vote for the candidate you know is running for the right reasons,” he said.
Eric Trump is the third of Trump’s children to address the convention. Brother Donald Jr., and sister Tiffany spoke Tuesday. Ivan Trump was scheduled to introduce her father on Thursday for his acceptance speech.
