WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) — Technology has completely changed the way parents interact with kids, even newborns. AT&T’s Brad Philavanh stopped by Sunrise 7 Tuesday morning to share some technologies to make adjusting to life with a new baby a little bit easier.
Samsung Gear S2
The Samsung Gear S2 may be able to parents who often find both hands are occupied . The Neo is a smartwatch that lets you make hands-free calls, check email, and respond to texts. It uses NumberSync technology from AT&T. Your phone doesn’t even need to be nearby or turned on. The Gear S2 also doubles as a fitness tracker to count your steps and monitor your heart rate.
LG Tone PRO
If a smartwatch isn’t for you, the LG Tone PRO wireless headset is another hands-free option. The Tone Ultra wirelessly connects to your smartphone, is voice activated and has vibrating call alert. Use Google Voice Actions and your compatible phone to look up a friend, check the weather, listen to music or even post to Facebook – all with simple voice commands using the LG Tone accessories. You can also keep your hands free for feeding time and diaper changes.
Samsung Galaxy S7
Capture milestone moments or everyday life as they happen with Samsung Galaxy S7. It’s the first Samsung smartphone with dual-pixel technology, which gives a professional look to your baby photos. The 12-MP camera features a new low-light sensor that works well, even in soft light. The Samsung Galaxy S7 repels spills, splashes and even dunks in milk.
Pulse Solo Speaker
An infants’ hearing is developed soon after birth, and research shows they can respond positively to music very early on. Children who grow up listening to music develop strong music-related connections in the brain. AT&T offers the Pulse Solo, which you can twist into any standard light socket, and adjust both lighting and sound from almost any Bluetooth enabled device. It offers dimmable lighting, without the fuss of speaker wires, power cords, or an independent remote control. Pulse Solo disappears into the lighting fixtures you already own, so you can play soft music and adjust the lighting in the nursery, all while accessing an existing power source.
InstaB for Baby
Described as “Instagram meets baby book,” the InstaB for Baby app helps new parents make the ultimate photo album. InstaB is the one-click solution for parents to customize their baby photos.
The app has cute milestone stickers and text overlays for photos that help parents create a detailed diary-meets-album of their babies as they grow.
The app also features a Baby Q&A, which allows parents to attach a photo to a query that can be seen by other users of the app. The idea is that one or more people will weigh in with some crowd sourced parenting advice and help.
