lm director and writer Martin Davidson and his wife, designer Sandy Davidson, have put their home in Hollywood Hills West up for sale at $2.995 million.
The residence, built in 1940, is the only property the couple looked at when they arrived in L.A. a little more than four decades ago. In the home originally designed for a sculptor, the 1,376 square feet of living space features a two-story living room, a sky-lit dining room and two offices with streamlined built-ins and furniture.
The kitchen, drawing from Art Deco and Midcentury Modern themes, has custom cabinetry and a lighted breakfast bar. Stacked sandstone surrounds the fireplace in the family room. The single-level home includes a master bedroom and two bathrooms.
Outside, a rounded deck centers on panoramic city-to-ocean views. A swimming pool, lawns and landscaping complete the setting.

The Davidsons bought the house in 1975 for $120,000, public records show.
Martin Davidson, 77, co-wrote and directed “Lords of Flatbush” (1974), “Almost Summer” (1978) and “Eddie and the Cruisers” (1983).
Sandy Davidson began her career as a set director and costume designer, dressing such stars as Diane Keaton and John Ritter. She later moved into the home and restaurant design field.
