From connection of artistic sensitivity and precision engineering an idea was born, to create furniture from raw timber. Two of the designers, Marta Magnowska and Grzegorz Kisielewski, met and got acquainted in high school. However, they have started working together with common project design only 6 months ago. Marta is a graduate of Department of Architecture of Wroclaw University of Technology. Grzegorz has finished Department of Mechanical and Power Engineering of Wroclaw University of Technology.
The designers wanted their first project – table Wood Design– to be elaborated in smallest details, so the process of formation of furniture lasted half a year. Hours have been spent on search of proper material, instruments and service providers. They invested good amount of time into visualization before they have decided about fairest laying and selection of stumps, largeness and thickness of tabletops and finish. Timber, due to careful multi step processing, has maintained a natural and raw character. Irregular arranging of trunk leaning tabletop causes impression, as if they grew straight from the land. In one of trunks, a steel plate has been attached, in which logotype of project has been placed referring to jars in trunk of the tree. The tabletop has been executed from tempered glass. It has rounded corners and chamfered edges. It has been fastened to trunks with assistance of bolts and glue.
