Controversial former BJP leader Dayashankar Singh, who made derogatory remarks against the former Chief Minister Mayawati, was arrested by the UP police with the help of the Bihar police.
Mr. Singh was arrested at Sugar Mill Colony in Buxar.
Mr. Singh, who originally hails from Buxar district, spent his childhood and had his education in Uttar Pradesh.
Following his derogatory remarks, the BJP expelled him from the party.
A case was lodged against Mr. Singh, who has been absconding since then. However, he was recently spotted offering prayers at the famous Shiva temple of Deogarh in Jharkhand.
