Oh no! Michael Schumacher’s current health condition is reportedly taking a toll on his mental health as the embattled Formula One (F1) superstar struggles for recovery following the injuries he sustained during an unfortunate skiing accident at the French Alpine resort of Meribel almost three years ago.
After coming out from a medically induced come on Jun. 16, 2014, Michael Schumacher has been undergoing treatment at the comforts of his home in Geneva, Switzerland, where a highly secured and state-of-the-art medical suite was built. Unfortunately, Schumacher’s recovery was slow, noting the severity of his head injuries.
Michael Schumacher’s Patience Waning Amid Slow Recovery
As Michael Schumacher’s recovery remains slow, the 47-year-old German racing legend is reportedly on the verge of giving up. According to Movie News Guide, Schumi’s immobility and slow recovery are also affecting his mental health as he “sobs in private” to express his “frustration and anxiety.”
“Usually, the most determined and highly motive racer is known never to break down in any dire situation,” the online news site wrote. “However, now it seems his patience has given up. He cannot express his feelings. Hence, the star driver merely sobs in private giving vent to his inner frustration and anxiety.”
Michael Schumacher’s Health Condition Is Still ‘Difficult’
The latest claims on Michael Schumacher’s health condition came as the racer’s longtime manager Sabine Kehm confirmed that Schumi’s health situation is still “so difficult.” As Parent Herald previously reported, Kehm also stressed that the media blackout requested by the family will still be in effect.
“Michael will not disappear but at the moment the private situation is so difficult that unfortunately no insight can be given,” Kehm said, as per Daily Express. “There must be understanding for this… We all know that I can’t comment. We just have to accept that the family wants to continue to protect their privacy.”
Michael Schumacher’s Family Selling Off Properties Amid Financial Crisis
With the burgeoning medical expenditures for Michael Schumacher’s ongoing treatment, his wife Corinna is reportedly selling off some properties. Now, Schumi’s two-decade-old Mercedes E55 AMG is currently up for sale at a massive price of $133 million, which is five times higher compared to its original price, The Christian Times reveals.
Even though Michael Schumacher has amassed an $800 million net worth, the increasing healthcare expenses have still prompted the family to sell their properties, which include their private jet and holiday pad. But for Corinna, those properties were no longer needed by the Michael and rest of the family.
Lewis Hamilton To Surpass Michael Schumacher As F1’s Greatest Racer?
In other Michael Schumacher-related news, Nigel Mansell claimed that Lewis Hamilton will surpass Schumi’s achievements as F1’s greatest racer of all time. In fact, Mansell insisted that he “sees no reason” why Hamilton can’t beat Schumacher’s record.
“I see no reason why he can’t equal Michael Schumacher’s (seven world championships) and even surpass him,” Mansell said, Daily Mail quotes. “Lewis has been nurtured from the beginning. He has this tremendous opportunity. The support of an incredible manufacturer has fine-tuned his ability and he’s having a blast with it.”
