When the Asian love towards sophisticated minimalism entwines with contemporary ingenuity and elegant functionality, the result is unique and quite intriguing. Is it possible to have a charming home that is so small – only 37 square meters, but still possesses all the features for comfortable urban lifestyle?

The architects from Atelier Mearc achieved this difficult task with their modern apartment project located in Shanghai, China. Although the interior decor has almost no furniture – in the traditional sense: the clever bespoke fittings, hidden compartment, and unusual solutions provide all the necessary comfort and factionalism for dynamic modern life.

The material combination of warm wood and fragile glass composes an amazing and tranquil ambiance with a hint of bold, playful character and ensures the impression of boundless spaciousness. Young and elegant the decor composition with its clear lines and delicate combinations offers unique experience – a mix between modern and classic, cozy comfort and playful dynamics.

Small whimsical elements like the book-origami of the designer’s lamp above the table, or unusual bold solutions like the glass partition of the bathroom that ensures spaciousness and modernistic play it dimensions, are the signature touch that gives character to the small place.
