Austin-based Beehive Boutique opens shop this fall at 2519 University Boulevard. Known for its vibrant colors and whimsical apparel, Beehive’s first Houston location carries various brands — all selected by proprietor Claire Fields.
Also hailing from Austin, Birds Barbershop opens its first Houston location in October at 420 East 20th Street in The Heights (next to Steel City Pops). Started byMichael Portman and Jayson Rapaport in 2006, Birds made a name for itself offering diverse haircuts for men and women accompanied by free Shiner beer, arcade games, and music. The duo owns eight locations in Austin.
Katie Ingram and Shelley Kaplan debut Birch Modern Mercantile in September at 1856 Fountain View Drive, showcasing uncommon goods from premier local and national artisans. After nearly 20 years in business, Abejas Boutique owner Christina Mitchellmoves from 5600 Kirby Drive near Rice Village to a 3,000-square-foot location at 2517 South Boulevard. The new mid-century modern digs feature interiors designed by guruBarbara Hill. Designers including Golden Goose, Peter Cohen, Mother Denim, Tibi, and Citizens of Humanity are on display.

Conceived by Marie France and Bernard Cohen in 1975, Bonpoint — a couture children’s line — remains a staple for posh parents, delivering seamless head-to-toe collections alive with fairytale flair. Now, Houstonians can discover the posh Parisian brand at River Oaks District.
Bonpoint’s apparel for newborns toddlers, and youth (girls and boys) stock the boutique. Also in tow, Bonpoint’s hypoallergenic skincare and signature scents.
Fashion, art, design, and home décor collide with the launch of InTwo, a shop event company from Alexandra Bruskoff and Natasha Parvizian Gorgue. The duo is providing pop-up showrooms for emerging brands to present their products on a local stage, featuring everyone from New York-based LoveShackFancy to LA jewelry designer EF Collection and Houston-based Latin e-retailer CooperativaShop.com.
The brand is currently prepping for its second event — Black, White, Denim, and Blush, which will feature black and white art from NEw York’s Morrisson Hotel Gallery. The shop kicks off on Tuesday, September 13, with private appointments and a cocktail party, and continues through Wednesday, September 14.
Fresh from Southampton, Carleen Ligozio opens her namesake boutique in River Oaks Shopping Center at 2005 West Gray Street. In stock: designers including Antoni & Alison, By Malene Birger, rizio Gianni, Megan Park, Obakki, and Pamela Henson.
Sisters Kailey and Kaygan Tissue are residing at Kissue boutique in Rice Village at 2532 Amherst Road. The shop features some of the duo’s favorite brands, including sunglasses company Quay Australia, Lumière, San Antonio-based candle company Bear and Roo, and Wrapped by Sav, a handmade jewelry line from TCU student Savannah Botkin.
Also in Rice Village, ModChic Couture is now open at 6125 Kirby Drive. OwnerEbele Iloanya lines the racks with her own contemporary ready-to-wear designs.
