This contemporary and full of a light project of CM Studio is an excellent example of how today’s design and architecture can combine with, and refers the classic features of even old Sydney’s workers cottage and turned it into modernistic, elegant and serine dwelling.
The designers used high-quality materials palate: from marble and wood to glass and metal in combination with the old brick constructs; and other original features the house, which represents an entwinement of warm, welcoming sensation and bright-lined contemporary minimalism. The color palate is also minimalist and simple leaving the leading role of the color atmosphere to the natural hues of the wood and the marble fittings and furniture.
The tranquil and sophisticated ambiance of this renovated house is decorated with beautiful pieces of furniture (most of which by Living Edge) and contemporary pieces of art from local artists. Smooth and easy to maintain surfaces (in kitchen and bathroom) combined with soft textures and rich tactile materials (in a living room and bedroom) compose and ambiance of comfort and ease. The facade combines the old brick construct (now refreshed in white) with the modernistic cubes that contain the new spaces. The interior is dominated by whiteness that reflects the well-directed natural light and gives a luminous sensation to the interior decor. Photography by Caroline McCredie
