HYDERABAD: Payment solutions provider Mastercard is keen on collaborating with the Union and state governments to provide technologies for the Smart Cities initiative, Porush Singh, country corporate officer (India) and division president (South Asia), MasterCard, said on Thursday here.

Speaking at the 45th Skoch Summit, Singh said, “As a global payments technology company, Mastercard has been enabling cities to become sustainable and more inclusive. Mastercard is keen to partner with the Indian government for the Smart Cities vision. We can develop innovative solutions that will make the lives of people and businesses easier – and help India further strengthen its competitive position in the world economy.”

The company showcased some of its key technologies at the summit that can be woven into the Smart Cities initiatives. These technologies include Masterpass, an omni-channel, all-digital payment service for consumers, issuers and merchants from Mastercard and Mastercab — an in-app checkout service to book and pay for cabs, enabled by Masterpass.
