A dream home – combining sophisticated elegance, old-time charm and historic spirit in one luminous welcoming composition – a house with a soul. Hans Verstuyft Architecten had been a task with the challenge of restored the building from the late XIX century, and successfully to introduce the ease of contemporary minimalism into the gorgeous shell of historical legacy. The combination of materials – marble and glass alongside aged wood as cladding, ceiling beams, and striped parquet creates and atmosphere of sophisticated luxury that acts as a canvas on which modern and historical features entwine harmoniously.
New additions to the architectural construct – like the glass and metal framed atrium that hosts the dining table and a reading corner coexist harmoniously with rich historical details that adorn the gorgeous high doors, staircase and ceiling ornaments. The new structures secure luminous, sunny expression to the design composition and the addition of modern appliances sustained in minimalist fashion (like in kitchen, bathroom and bedroom design) create the unique character of the composition.
Check the master bedroom as a representation of the essence of this eclectic design – under the romantic fresco of the ceiling, a modern bed structure with minimalist expression offers a perfect space for relaxation and comfort. In the bathrooms – a vintage ornamented glass coexist with contemporary marble structures. In the living room in front of the welcoming fireplace soft textures and modern design furniture in mild colors invite for chill-out time.
